Name: K.L. Age: 44 Occupation: Soldier/ Medic
City: Ft. Lewis State: WA Country: USA
I am a deployed soldier/medic currently on the downside of my 2nd deployment to Iraq. I've been servinng now for more than 20+ years and looking forward to the transition real soon. As a combat medic I support the war fighters outside the wire of the FOB. This time out my Docs and I spent 15 months on foreign soil. They were recently shipped home a little while ago in prep for my arrival back to the states. They've been my home away from home when I've needed to get away from the discipline of military stressers. I don't leave the country without them. They've seen many a different environment some hostile and then some not so hostile. The most hostile that I can speak of openly was the Mosul Chow Hall Bombing of OIF '04'05.

"We never saw it coming...and when it happened it was to late."

Wherever I am when my feet are snuggled comfortably within them I'm always home on US soil. To tell the truth...it would be much better for the service member of all branches to be outfitted with your product. Especailly when we're doing what we do with a rucksack on our backs. As for me I won't say I'm changing the world ...just doing my part to conserve the fighting strength is all.

I started wearing Dr. Martens in the 80's wore them all the time social occasions, in the house, for gardening and to the opera! we want to walk to the opera house which is a couple of miles so I was happy to have the most comfortable AND stylish boots with me and I am sooo proud to show off at the Opera House in those boots! But I have had a hard time finding the real thing lately I'm shopping right now, and thank you very much!!!!

I bought my first pair of Doc's in 1992 while studying architecture in school in Copenhagen, Denmark. I travelled around Europe in those boots! I saw Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, Munich, Berlin, Vienna, Salzburg, Prague, Rome, Florence, Venice, Budapest, London, Switzerland, and Paris. I sketched some of the most famous buildings in the world in my Doc's. I have been a fan of Doc Martens ever since. I recently got a pair of Authentic Collection 1914 Oxblood 14eyelet Doc's for my birthday. I wear them every day around town. Doc's are the best boot in the world.

Name: Rasha Age: 24 Occupation: Lawyer
City: Chennai-Tamil Nadu Country: India
I still use the first pair of Dr Martins that I bought in 7th grade...I pestered my parents to get me a pair in 1996 and I finally got what I wanted...I picked up a size larger than my actual size in the hope that my feet would grow inside the boots which weer roomy enough...
Since then my pair of Dr. Martins have gone through every possible situation imaginable..Used it as school shoes, used them at work, used them on vacations in the snow, in the rain...yet the shoes remain intact...Thay've also saved me from glass splinters and acid on the roads...My Dr Martins has def saved careless me from a million hazardous situations...My mother and almost everyone I know joke about me and my pair of martins...Most of them say that Rasha is very economical..My mom says that she'd give them away to my husband as dowry:).she still uses the pair of shoes that she was born with....
I bought my pair in Saudi Arabia when boots were considered to be the "in" thing....Sadly now iv left Saudi Arabia and I have no access to buying the same from the malls or stores here in India...The one i own is an oldfashioned classic pair and I'd never throw them away..so far so good they are intact...All I can say is that Dr Martins rule and that I've spent the best memories of my life in my Dr. Martins and wish they are sold in India sooner so that I can get a new pair...Its truly indestructible...

I've loved Doc Martens since I was in High School. I bought my very first pair when I was a brandnew Soldier in the US Army in 1996. I wore those black, greasy, 4eye shoes endlessly. They were a key piece my offduty "uniform." I walked in many states and a few countries in those Docs, to include a year in South Korea. During that summer of '99, I took a trip back to the US for a vacation and made it a priority to get my hands on a pair of Dr. Marten sandals. I scoured four malls in two states to find the right ones. I didn't give up because I knew they were out there somewhere and I just had to check "one more store!" Sure enough I finally lucked out and found the perfect pair before my return to Korea. I wore them throughout the remainder of my Active Duty career and still have both pairs. Twelve years and two more pairs later, I'm in the process if finding my next pair and I just don't want anything else. I hope that by serving my country for a few years helped change the world one way or another, but if not, I had on great shoes in the meantime!
