I am a struggling musician, and all the docs I have ever owned, have been the perfect compliment to what modest threads I fill. Their style is not only brilliant and simple, but very practical. They look good, and live longer than any other imitator that have tried.
My most recent pair, are by far, my favorite. Yet, I find myself saddened over the prolonged realization, that I have to retire them.
It has taken me YEARS of going to concerts, playing gigs, courting my girlfriend (who is now my wife), a sprained ankle (without my docs, would've been a broken foot), working a "day job" to support my musical aspirations, and relentless skanking at ska shows, just to name a FEW.
I think that their appearance, and "battle wounds" are badges of honor, that I sport with pride. Because it proves without a doubt, that I'm not a poser. Mine, were Real docs, that traveled with me in Real life, good times and bad. Yet, they are the Most Comfortable pair I have ever owned!!!!!!!
Which is why myself, and any true"docs smith" will tell you without hesitation,
"Docs feel great from the start, and ripen with age...."

I've always been somewhat of a unique individual. I've never really cared much for mainstream preppy culture. My style consists a little bit of everything from grunge, punk and goth. My fave pair of shoes are my black 14 holed docs with a steel toe. This works great for me when my husband and I attend metal shows together. Not only do I feel safe on the floor in the mosh pit proven boots, but they also work well with my style of dress consisting of pleated minnis from hotTopic, fishnets or just plain faded jeans and metal band tees.

I'm a FirefighterParamedic in Southeast Texas.. I have the 2295 Black, ST Wellington Boots. I'm in my boots 21 of the 24 hours of the day performing a wide assortment of tasks from station maintenance, to high angle rope rescues, medical emergencies, hazmat scenes, wilderness, and not to forget firefighting tasks. These boots have been the best pair I've ever used. My insoles are worn to nothing I was on this site looking for some new ones. I'll be buying these boots again (if these EVER wear out!)...thnx....

I served a sabatical (20012003) in the Phillipines where I took at least two pairs of my Doc's. I had a service companion who did not have good shoes and gave him a pair of which he is still wearing today. During that two years I wore my other pair which was a high ankle lace up almost every day.
After walking a minimum of five+ miles a day for two years I had worn two small holes through the soles, one in each foot. Those shoes walked through puddles, deep flooding rain waters, mud, sand, and on pavement. As I went through one pair of shoes in two years many of my companions went through multiple pairs such as Catapillar and other rugged work shoe/boot brands.
I have three pairs to date and my wife has many. Our Docs save our feet and our pocket book in the long run. I would recommend them to anyone!
