I have been an avid doc wearer since I was 15 years old. I was given a new pair on my 21st birthday from my dad and he ordered them from your london location because I wanted the slick bottom and they did not make them here in the us. Anyways, I wore my docs everyday to work, to play, on trips, you name it I wore them. Thank god that I did, because if I had not worn them on 04/14/2008, I would not be wrting this story to you today. On this fateful day I was driving home from northern arizona and was almost home, when I swerved to mis hitting an animal that ran into the road. When I swerved, the van I was in rolled 6 times acrosed the highway then uprighted itself then accellerated into a mud wal and rolled again. When I came to, and pulled myself from the vehicle, my only major injury was my right ankle. It hurt but due to shock or something, I only thought it was a sprane. When emergency crews arrived, 4 hours later, I said I was fine and would wait for my mom to come and get me. Litle did I know just how badly my ankle was damaged. Another hour and a half pased by the time my ride got to me. On my ride home, my mom told me to remove my boot and the splint, made of a pillow and a dress shirt, a bystander had put on my ankle to relieve the pressure since by now it started to hurt a litle. To my uter surprise, onec my boot was unlaced, I started to open it up and remove it when I saw that my injury was not a sprane, but a major compund fracture. This had severed my artery in my ankle and so my boot was full of blood. I was rushed to the er, and when they finally removed the boot completly, they were in awe. They poured over my boot looking for the object that had punctured through my ankle, by my achilles tendon, causing the artery damage. They found nothing had punctured my boot, but that my bones in my ankle and my leg had been crushed then stretched and finally slammed back together, due to the engine had come into the cab of the van as it rolled and my foot was trapped under it. It was so damaged that my cartilage had been push completely out of my ankle and pushed up my leg to the middle of my calf. I was rushed into emergency sergury and four hours later I had 2 titatnium plated 3 rods and 27 screws now holding my foot to my leg. My surgon came into my room later and said that if it wasnt for my doc martens my foot would have been torn off my leg and I would have most likely die before emergency crews would have arrived, let get to the hospital. He said you need to thank the maker of these shoes because they saved your foot and your life. WOW, my favorite shoes in the world saved my life!!!!!!!!!!I have been in two hard casts, a walking boot and physical therapy since the accident. The whole time, I was working on being able to walk again, I have been asked over a hundred times about what happened and everytime, I tell my story people are in awe of the fact that my shoes saved my life. I tell evryone that they should get a pair, and so far 5 of my friends have bought a pair of your shoes, and others have gone to look for the pair thats right for them. The only downer to this story is that in all the comotion at the hospital, my life saving boots were lost. So after all my work to be eble to walk again, and be able to wear both shoes again, the one pair I could not live without, litterally, were gone. So now that I am able to work again in my field, which requires me to stand all day long, I have found my self working to be able to afford a pair of your boots to once again grace my feet in my everyday doings, which will once again let me feel like my old whole self. There is nothing like a pair of 8 hole black originals with the slick bottoms to make your feet feel comfy and in my case safe. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CRAFTSMANSHIP AND FOR YOUR LIFESAVING DESIGN. WITHOUT IT I WOULD NOT BE HERE TODAY TO SPREAD THE WORD AS TO HOW GREAT A PRODUCT YOUR COMPANY MAKES. I WILL ONCE AGAIN HAVE MY DOCS, AND I HOPE THAT EVERYONE I TELL THIS TO WILL BUY A PAIR AND SEE WHAT A GREAT PRODUCT IT IS. I WILL WEAR DOC MARTENS UNTIL THE DAY I DIE, WHICH THANKS TO YOU, WONT BE FOR A LONG LONG TIME. THANK YOU FOR SAVING MY LIFE.

I am fifty two years old, and have been wearing dr. Martens for (give or take 2530 years. I have had your reg. shoes but your sandals are all I wear. I wear them all year round. I walk 4 1/2
miles a day in them, I work for a school district, which I have driven
school bus, mowed, clean and wax floors, you name it I have done it in my Dr. Martens. No matter where I go, (shopping, vacation, other States, ect.) every trip has to be a stop and look for new sandals for mom. I will never go with out my sandals. What got me hooked on them was 21 years of tumbling and trampoline class, never wearing shoes. I needed something that would not enclose my heels, that is were your sandals come in. My heels and feet were always sore till I wear your sandals, and here it is some 30 year later. Thank youl

I work with at risk young men in a Wyoming treatment facility. My position takes on many roles. I can be a mentor, an older brother figure, a disciplinarian and a friend. My job is to teach the boys how to interact prosocially with one another. Most of the boys have grown up in foster care or broken homes and learned their inappropriate behaviors from their parents or caregivers. When they come to me and my coworkers we work with them and teach them basic life skills. Many of the boys are amazed by my collection of Doc's. I have one pair that they make smart ass comments about "dang, sir! I bet those boots are older than me!". That old pair of grizzly's is my favorite pair. I picked them up at a Doc Marten store when i was 19 in Aurora, Colorado. It was my first pair and i still wear them today as my motorcycle boots. I have several other styles as well. I have a pair of brown athletic shoes that i bought online two years ago and i got a pair of black lenny's for christmas last year. I wore the lenny's to a wedding when i was the best man and everyone talked about how sweet of a shoe it is.

I've been teaching for 10 years, and just about every single day has bee spent in Doc Marten's! Sporting either my black greasy 8eyes or my lasterethched steeltoes, along with my eartunnel, my 30+ tattoos, and my shaved head. I've been teaching 2nd grade for the last 7 years, and my kids love them. Every drawing they do that has me in it includes my "black boots." I've taught in the same Title I school (lowincome community) for my entire teaching career, and I can't imagine facing my day without my Doc's!
