Had my first used 1940s with speed laces in college and never skipped a beat wearing them daily through those Fargo winters. Wore them til the day they died, may the good Lord rest their soles. I spent little time grieving and immediately picked up a replacement 1460s. Fall has quickly become my favorite season knowing that the sandals come off and the docs go on for the next 9 months. They don't leave my feet. When I'm snow blowing and shoveling. They are there. When I'm in the office, they fit snugly under my suit. They are at the club when we hit a show and they greet me at the door each and every morning. Durable? Two full Minnesota winters and still fully conditioned for a suit and the boardroom meetings immediately after a digging out of the driveway so I can get to the office. I don't own my docs, my docs own me.

Today I woke up just like every other day. It was raining today. Stinging rain like machine gun bullets on my face. I brushed my teeth but skipped the shower I was running late. Like I said it was just like any other day. I got to work, Hung at the water cooler and talked trash about politics, what was on the tv last night, and my boss. Its amazing how poeple can get promoted on how many donuts they can eat by 11am. Anyway, I sat in my glass cell office with no window and prceeded to look busy. For essentially 12 hrs. I caught the bus home (I opted out buying the 60 mile per gallon go cart) and headed home. I flopped on my green couch without even taking off my tie first and proceeded to play a few bars of pearl jam on my fender, I was getting pumped up to go out and knock down a few brews until i had beer googles. It was Friday night and my friends and I knew it. I put my vintage who shirt on, My way overpriced pair of blue jeans, and yes my doc Martens. the original 1460 black 8 eyelet boots That i have worn now for 16 years! Yeah you heard me 16 years. They were my getaway, my home, my apple pie sort a speak. The soles were smooth like ice they are so worn in. In a nutshell that what dr martens mean to me. Salvation from everyday. I live , I talk , i breathe, touch , taste , feel and walk in these boots. Bouncing soles and my bouncing mind. Break free and roam !

i have had my Doc's for almost 8 years now and i have loved them the whole time. i made the purchase when i was just a sophomore in high school and now, almost ready to graduate college they are still holding strong. i used them for everything from dressing up to go out for a night on the town to working on the farm or in the creek.
these are by far the best boot and the best shoe i have ever owned and i can count on them to be around for another 8 years

My mother has been a punk all her life, she pretty much popped out of the womb wearin docs and swingin her fists! She wore her boots every single day, kept them sharp and polished, she loves those boots so much. So you can bet that when I turned thirteen and my mom passed those beauties down to me, I was overjoyed. I've been wearing them for two years now, they've been everywhere witth me, every fight, every fail. I know I'll always have those boots, until the day that I pass them down to my little girl.

I've been flying for almost 2 years now. I went through a couple different shoes before settling on Docs. I wanted something that looked sharp, professional, felt rugged and comfortable, and was a quality made product that would last. Dr. Martens satisfied all these requirements. I even feel like a hip trend setter!
As an added perk they make going through security at the airports a breeze. While I'm in uniform i don't have to take off my shoes IF they don't set off the metal detector. Well, your product doesn't have those cursed metal shanks in them. I just set my bags on the conveyor and waltz on through! Especially in my profession, that makes all the difference!
I'm trying to spread the word to all my flight attendant coworkers. Then again ....it's cool to be unique. I haven't noticed anyone in my base wearing them, so it makes me feel young and hip.:) I'll never wear another brand the rest of my career! I'm already wanting to try out another style, but i know the ones i have now will last much, much longer. Kind of frustrating really. Ha!:)
Literally tens of thousands of people see me working in front of them every year, and they notice what i wear. Thanks for making at least one decision I'll have to make a number of times for the next 30 years, a nobrainer. Ross
