Name: Jean Age: 35 Occupation: Safety Engineer
City: Orlando State: FL Country: U.S.A.
Who am I and what do I do in my docs? I am a Safety Engineer for the U.S. Space Program I ensure that people do not kill themselves or others when designing, modifying, and/or using the ground equipment for the processing of the Space Shuttle, Ares IX, and Constellation Programs. I consider my 14608eyeMadeinEngland Black Greasy docs a part of my Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) because they safely protect every step that I take opentoed footwear, footwear with narrow heels, and canvas/permeable footwear are not allowed in processing areas where chemicals, heavy objects, and open grating are present nor are those types of footwear suitable for going out in the field where the rattle snakes, mosquitoes, sandburs, and alligators roam freely. These are just a few locations where my docs have left their imprints: Space Shuttle Launch Pads 39 A and B, the Vehicle Assembly Building, the Orbiter Processing Facility, the Solid Rocket Booster Assembly and Refurbishment Facility Manufacturing Building, the Rotation Processing and Surge Facility, the Launch Control Center, Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, and Launch Complex 14 where the first American in orbit was launched via Project Mercury. My docs also accompany me when presenting educational workshops to children, high school students, university students, and adults. What makes me outside of ordinary and how am I changing the world? I change the world in my docs by having a direct impact on the ground support equipment designs and on the inspiration of people to innovate and discover future products and processes that will benefit human kind for many generations to come.

I've been wearing my Dr. Martens boots for the past 10 years, standing walking talking on the hardest floors around, teaching high school art to people who can appreciate your good boot and shoe designs and bouncing soles. My boots keep me fearless of foot injury and back pain, allowing me to keep on teaching, changing the world, one class at a time. Thanks for making a quality product I have testified to many people of their comfort and longevity, as my favorite pair I wore for about 8 years and they just finally gave up the ghost last year. I've told my students that they are a great foot wear investment as they keep you ready for life's adventures and look cool too. Thanks again Ms. Jenkins

I have wanted Docs for about 15 years and finally bought a pair of smooth black 1460s about a year ago. Wish I had done it a long time ago!

I use my DMs for duty boots and they are well suited due to their comfort, traction, "ease of exit" and professional appearance. I keep them shined up and get complimented regularly on their good looks.

Today I even ran a marathon in them. Many other runners and passerbys referred to my boots by name. The other runners seemed shocked (to say the least) but after the run I was none the worse for wear and neither were my Docs. This classic design is so ahead of it's time! After a change of socks I even wore them home!

I recently purchased a pair of vintage 1460's to wear off duty so I can appreciate them outside of work. I have become a huge and loyal fan. Docs are far more than just a boot!

This story is more about how Dr. Martens have changed my world. I have had 3 major injuries to my left ankle in the last 2 years, the last one rendering my ability to walk very painful and limited. I thought my work with horses was over. I bought my first pair of Dr,Martens hoping a little added support would help me get around alittle more and found that I hardly noticed my injuries, I am again working with horses, taking care of business and able to go places with my family without always looking for a place to get off my leg. With out my Doc's I still have excruciating pain, so now my day starts with my boots, then my coffee.

I was unaware the reasons they were originally made until last week. Very impressed, and pleased that there are a few still made in England! I cannot wear any other foot ware, literally. It is wonderful that they are as stylish as they are therapeutic. I will be a walking advertisement for the rest of my life.

Thanks so much, I love them almost as much as I love my husband.

Name: David Age: 26 Occupation: Musician

I am a struggling musician, and all the docs I have ever owned, have been the perfect compliment to what modest threads I fill. Their style is not only brilliant and simple, but very practical. They look good, and live longer than any other imitator that have tried.
My most recent pair, are by far, my favorite. Yet, I find myself saddened over the prolonged realization, that I have to retire them.
It has taken me YEARS of going to concerts, playing gigs, courting my girlfriend (who is now my wife), a sprained ankle (without my docs, would've been a broken foot), working a "day job" to support my musical aspirations, and relentless skanking at ska shows, just to name a FEW.
I think that their appearance, and "battle wounds" are badges of honor, that I sport with pride. Because it proves without a doubt, that I'm not a poser. Mine, were Real docs, that traveled with me in Real life, good times and bad. Yet, they are the Most Comfortable pair I have ever owned!!!!!!!
Which is why myself, and any true"docs smith" will tell you without hesitation,
"Docs feel great from the start, and ripen with age...."
